Activity report

The 18th Student Presentation Symposium of the Society for Biotechnology, Japan [East Japan Branch] has become an annual special event. The vigorous debate was lively and highly praised by the participating students. In addition, "a special lectures" were also held by inviting young scientific researchers to introduce their research achievement and career development.

Our lab member AN GUANGQI, Morinaga Hikaru and YU FANGTING gave the research presentation in the 18th Student Presentation Symposium of Society for Biotechnology from East Japan Branch.

Our lab member XUN XIANG (D3), successfully graduated from University of Tsukuba. Congratulations! A farewell party for him and welcome party for freshman (ZHANG HONGTAO  and HAN YANG) was held simultaneously.

The 75th Annual Meeting of the Society for Biotechology in Japan (2023.9.3-2023.9.5) was held at Nagoya University. In addition, the social gathering has been hold face-to-face to celebrate the 100th anniversary of The Society for Biotechology, Japan.

Professor YANG and our laboratory member AN GUANGQI(D1) each presented at the academic conference.

The 9^th International Conference on Nanoscience and Technology which held in Beijing, China (August 26 to 28, 2023) has been a highly anticipated international conference. As the largest and most prestigious nanotechnology conference in Asia and beyond, ChinaNANO 2023 has attracted more than 2,500 attendees to participate and discuss the latest scientific breakthroughs and technological advancements. It is also characterized by discussing emerging trends of Nanoscience and Technology.

Professor Yang was invited to attend this conference and delivered a lecture.

Our lab member AN GUANGQI（D1）participated in poster presentation at the Water and Environment Technology (WET) Conference 2023.

With the goal of establishing new methodologies and basic technologies which help solve microbial problems, the Uncultivated Microorganisms (Microbial Dark Matter) Resource Engineering Research Group held a symposium.
Professor YANG and our lab members AN GUANGQI, YU FANGTING, YANG JINGWEI participated in the symposium.

Our lab member AN GUANGQI and YANG JINGWEI gave the research presentation in the 11th Colloquium of Eastern Japan Branch of Society for Biotechnology. At the colloquium, we received the constructive comments and advice from the academic and the industrial point of view.
