The environmental engineering course briefing session was held for Agro-biological Resource Sciences students at University of Tsukuba. Sensei and lab members introduced the research contents at the session. The students actively participated and were interested in the presented research, curriculum, and campus life.
We went to cherry blossom viewing for the first time in several years. Additionally, TIAN JIAXU (research student) and WEI WEN (research student) have joined the laboratory. We deepened our friendship while eating lunch under the cherry blossoms.
We are pleased to announce that two of our students, Morinaga Hikaru(M2) and Kenta Kobori (M2), received their master's degrees. Congratulations! In addition, SUN XIANG will be employed as a postdoctoral researcher at Kumamoto University. We also welcomed Ms. Rika Mizuno (M1), who will join us this spring. We congratulate all the members on their new beginning.
[East Japan Branch] The 12th Japan Society for Biotechnology East Japan Branch Colloquium "Frontiers of Microbial Metabolic Engineering Research" was held at the University of Tsukuba Tokyo Campus, Bunkyo School Building on February 29, 2024. This colloquium focused on metabolic engineering in a broad sense and related new technologies, and some specialist in this field gave their introduction. All the participants exchanged and shared information on the latest research trends in this field. In addition, a poster session was held and our lab member AN GUANGQI and YANG JINGWEI gave their research presentation in this colloquium.
We held a year-end party of Yang lab at the University and everyone had a good time together. Especially, the students （Ayaka oshii ，Haruka Kume and Shun Oshiro）who newly joined Yang lab this year. Everyone gave a variety of wonderful performance.
The 6th Global Conference: ESG Management & Sustainability was held in Korea University, Seoul, South Korea (Nov 28th-Nov 30th, 2023). This forum aims to provide a foundation of collective intelligence with ESG scholars on the present and future in the ESG era. About a thousand scholars who are from Asia and even the world attended this international conference.
Our lab member AN GUANGQI, ZHANG HONGJIAN and YANG JINGWEI gave the research presentation on 2023 Global ESG Forum.
The 18th Student Presentation Symposium of the Society for Biotechnology, Japan [East Japan Branch] has become an annual special event. The vigorous debate was lively and highly praised by the participating students. In addition, "a special lectures" were also held by inviting young scientific researchers to introduce their research achievement and career development.

Our lab member XUN XIANG (D3), successfully graduated from University of Tsukuba. Congratulations! A farewell party for him and welcome party for freshman (ZHANG HONGTAO and HAN YANG) was held simultaneously.
The 75th Annual Meeting of the Society for Biotechology in Japan (2023.9.3-2023.9.5) was held at Nagoya University. In addition, the social gathering has been hold face-to-face to celebrate the 100th anniversary of The Society for Biotechology, Japan.

As the largest and most prestigious nanotechnology conference in Asia and beyond, ChinaNANO 2023 has attracted more than 2,500 attendees to participate and discuss the latest scientific breakthroughs and technological advancements. It is also characterized by discussing emerging trends of Nanoscience and Technology.
Professor Yang was invited to attend this conference and delivered a lecture.
